The capital city of Queensland is worthy of a few days to explore the bars, restaurants and shopping of the third-largest Australian city. The Great Barrier Reef

No list of Queensland highlights would be complete without a mention of the Great Barrier Reef, the biggest in the world. Over June and July, there’s even the chance to swim with minke whales who visit the reef during that time of year.

Daintree Rainforest

In the northeast of Queensland, the Daintree Rainforest affords visitors incredible jungle hikes through the wetlands of mangrove forests and eucalyptus trees, where there are hundreds of birds to spot. There are also boat tours down the Daintree River where visitors can spot enormous saltwater crocodiles sunning themselves on the banks.
