BoHU’s volunteer programs are an immersion into the rural villages in the Mukono District where volunteers contribute to various projects to help meet the needs of the community. Grab yourself some cheap flights to Africa, and you’ll see they may work at a clinic, school, orphanage, among other places. For those interested in making a big impact there is the Sustainable Development Volunteer Program. Volunteers can work with one of their programs in Healthcare (Outreaches and Construction), Agriculture (Farms and Training), Education (Teaching and Construction) and Micro-Business Finance (Training and Venture Capital Fund). Volunteers help serve these communities and leave with a visual proof of the work they’ve done.

Mkombozi (meaning “liberator, emancipator” in Swahili) works to stem the tide of Tanzania’s street children through housing, education, research, advocacy, and outreach. This organization welcomes volunteers of differing levels of skills and experience in a variety of fields, including: social work, counseling, nursing, HIV/AIDS awareness, education, curriculum development, training, research, communications, and art. They are currently seeking assistance in the areas of mental health/social workers, teaching, fundraising, information technology, and art. Help vulnerable children and youth to grow in mind, body and spirit and to build a more caring society for all.

This hostel is located in Nkhata Bay, Malawi. Butterfly Space runs a community project from their hostel grounds and also work alongside many projects in the local community. Environmental, health care, teaching, and medical positions are among the many opportunities available. Those capable can hold workshops on site at the hostel. As communication in the community is vital, the staff at Butterfly will provide local language lessons, in Chi Tonga or Chichewa.
